What is Visual Dx?

VisualDx is a differential diagnosis tool with images and point of care information to aid in the identification of visually identifiable diseases. Before using VisualDX, please read the following:

How do I access VisualDx?

1. First, go the OHSU Library main page from your web browser.

2. Scroll down to Quick Links.

    From the Clinicians tab, select VisualDx (under the Point of Care Tools)

3. Please know you may be asked to log into your OHSU Account using Duo Authentication.

 

How to Find a Visual to Illustrate a Specific Diagnosis

1. From the VisualDx home screen, type the diagnosis into the search box and press ‘Enter’

  

 

2. Select the preferred age range from the pulldown menu next to the diagnosis.

  

 

3. Using the toggle bar to the right, you can choose your image search scope. To broaden your search results, choose ‘All Skin Types'

  

 

 4. To narrow your image search you may select the ‘Skin of Color’ photos.

      

 

 5. To even further narrow your results, choose ‘View all Images’

      

 

6. Within the ‘View all Images’ section you may apply a variety of filters to narrow your search.
