Selected archival materials have been digitized and added to OHSU's Digital Collections. Digital collections are available to the public for individual study and research. Included are photographs of Starr, Edwards, and their colleagues; correspondence, manuscripts and notes created by Edwards during the development of the valve; studio images of prototype valves; and university publicity material from the era. These images can be browsed as a group, and are also searchable by keyword.
The following archival collections contain photographs, manuscripts, correspondence, publications, artifacts and other primary materials. Collections are available for research by appointment in OHSU Historical Collections & Archives.
This guide was compiled as part of the M. Lowell Edwards Public History Project, made possible by a grant from the Edwards Lifesciences Fund.
