Access full-text articles and ebooks through the OHSU Network

Online resources provided by OHSU Library are accessible through the OHSU Networks or with a VPN/eduroam connection if it is available to you. If not, use our EZProxy authentication tool to gain access in the following ways:
  • When you start your search from OHSU Library home page, the A-Z Database List or our Library Search, you will be prompted to log-in with your OHSU Network ID
  • We also recommend other ways to make your article access easier, such as:

***Off-campus remote access for library resources is controlled by EZproxy, an access and authentication software that connects users to content they want. Users gain secure remote access to the Web-based, licensed content they discover in libraries.  EZproxy works by dynamically altering the URLs within the webpages provided by database vendors. Once signed in to the proxy server, EZproxy rewrites URLs of electronic resources, producing the same effect as if the off-campus user was accessing them via the OHSU network or from an OHSU Library computer.

Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Typically, an EZproxy session will remain valid for 2 hours once logged in.  However, in order to stay in an EZproxy session, you must conduct all your research within the same browser you used to log into EZproxy.
  • The session will automatically time out after 2 hours of inactivity or ends when you close/quit your browser.
  • When in doubt, check your URL address to see if it contains the ohsu library's proxy prepend "".  If it's there, you are still connected and should have access.
  • If the proxy prepend dropped out of the URL, or if the current session already expired, the system may prompt you to log in again.  If not, you may go back to the library home page to get the proxied links and start your search again.  Or you can use one of the tools listed under Useful Tools section manually trigger the off campus log in prompt.
  • If you are connected but still not able to access a resource or are prompted to pay or log in at a vendor's web site, please contact us.
