Using Library Resources
The library pays for many different databases and journals for scholarly research. The databases described below are just a sample of the relevant databases available. If you have trouble finding relevant literature, or aren't sure where to start your research, please contact us.
Library Databases

PubMed (MEDLINE)Provides access to the MEDLINE database of references and abstracts on medicine, nursing, dentistry and pre-clinical sciences. Links to full-text articles when available.

Cochrane Database of Systematic ReviewsTopic reviews of the evidence-based medical literature providing authoritative information.

ScopusCitation and abstract database of peer-reviewed literature that can be used by researchers to determine the impact of specific authors, articles/documents and journals.

Acland's Video Atlas of Human AnatomyAcland's Video Atlas of Human Anatomy is a series of anatomy lessons on video presented by Robert Acland. Dr. Acland who was a professor of surgery in the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Videos are of real human anatomic specimens in their natural colors and presents moving structures - muscles, tendons, and joints - making the same movements that they make in life.

What if the library doesn't have what I need?
If the library does not subscribe to a journal that you need, you can request an article through Get It For Me Service (ILL). The article will then be electronically delivered to you, oftentimes within a few business days.
